My psychotherapy style combines psychodynamic, relational, and person-centered approaches using mindfulness-based techniques, and focuses on empowering clients to find their inner wisdom and intuition, providing the skills and space to implement meaningful long-term change. Having a coaching background my work is geared towards empowering clients, where therapy is a mastery experience, and helping clients connect with their own inner knowing.
My approach is also informed by my clinical research work, which focused on ways to empower trauma survivors and the ethical use of power in psychotherapy. I have had some opportunities to lecture and teach about my research on ways to create safety in therapy as well as intergenerational transmission of trauma in family systems. I also run a group for people with chronic pain based on the principles of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. Additionally, I treat ADD/ADHD particularly in women addressing the issues of time management, relationships and shame.
I specialize in treating people with:
- Depression and anxiety
- Chronic pain and illness
- Trauma and PTSD
- Grief and loss
- Drug and alcohol issues
- Relationship Issues
- Professional burnout and life transitions.
I have openings including sliding scale in my practice and would be happy to speak more and network in our community so please feel free to send a message or forward my information.
